Sink and faucet installation for Colorado Springs kitchens and baths
A new faucet goes in fast when the stops and drain are sound. When they are not, we fix them first, so the new fixture is not sitting on a valve that will not close.

Quick answer
Sink and faucet installation in Colorado Springs takes a good part of a visit for a kitchen swap, less for a vanity faucet, and more when a disposal, a countertop cutout or old angle stops are involved. The fixture is rarely the slow part. Seized shutoffs, a corroded trap or a sink that misses the counter opening are.
The parts under the counter that decide how this goes
A sink and faucet connect to the house at the angle stops, the supply lines and the drain. We often replace multi-turn stops with quarter-turn valves, because old ones either will not close or start dripping at the stem once disturbed. On the drain side, we cut the tailpiece and trap to the new bowl depth and make sure the trap arm falls toward the wall instead of back toward the sink.
If you are buying the fixture, buy for the counter: hole count, deck plate, spout reach and, for undermounts, who mounts the bowl. We reconnect the dishwasher drain and ice maker line that share the cabinet. Moving the sink to a new wall turns the job into remodel rough-in work, and a disposal going in at the same time is covered under disposal installs.

Cost
What sink and faucet installs cost
These published ranges cover the fixture work itself. Moving a drain, adding a disposal outlet or replacing a corroded wall stub is extra and depends on what sits behind the cabinet back.
What moves the price
- Drop-in, undermount or farmhouse sink
- Hole count and any counter drilling
- Replacing old angle stops
- Disposal and dishwasher reconnections
- Trap height and drain rework
- Corroded stubs in the wall
Ranges are published market figures for planning, not a quote. We price your job after we see it.
Kitchen sink and faucet swaps
Swapping a kitchen sink means disconnecting the disposal and dishwasher drain, cutting the old sealant or clips, and lifting the bowl out without chipping the counter edge. Drop-in sinks reset on fresh putty or silicone at the rim. Undermounts are glued and clipped from below and left to cure before anything heavy goes in them. The faucet goes on the new sink before it is set, far easier than working upside down in the cabinet. A deeper bowl lowers the trap, so if the wall drain stub sits high, we tell you before you buy.
Bathroom vanity faucets
Vanity faucets come as centerset, widespread or single-hole, and they only fit the hole pattern your sink or top already has. We install the faucet, the pop-up drain that comes in the box, and new supply lines sized to the faucet tails. Pop-up drains are where many new vanity installs leak, because the drain body gasket and the pivot rod nut both have to be right. We fill the bowl, pull the stopper and watch every joint underneath with a light before calling it finished.

Utility and laundry sinks
A utility sink in a garage or basement often drains into the same standpipe as the washer, and that standpipe has to carry both without backing up. We set the tub level, give it its own trap and vent tie-in, and fit a faucet with a threaded spout if you want to run a hose. Garage spots need thought: supply lines on an outside wall or in an unheated bay have to be protected from freezing or drainable. A laundry tub below the sewer line drains through a small pump instead of gravity.
Local conditions
Under-sink surprises in Colorado Springs homes
Colorado Springs has houses from nearly every decade, from older homes with galvanized stubs under the sink to newer builds with PEX and plastic stops. So we check what comes out of the wall before a swap. A galvanized nipple corroded on the inside can snap when the stop is turned, and an old metal trap arm can crumble when loosened. Knowing that ahead of time keeps a faucet swap from becoming an evening without water.
What is included
What a sink and faucet install should include
Some quotes cover only the faucet. These items are part of ours.
- Existing stops tested, replaced if they do not hold
- Braided supply lines sized to the faucet
- Faucet mounted with its gasket or deck plate
- Sink set with putty, silicone or clips as designed
- Basket strainer or pop-up drain sealed
- Trap and tailpiece cut to the new depth
- Dishwasher and disposal reconnected
- Full bowl leak test on every joint
Do it yourself?
Doing the swap yourself, and where it leaks
Plenty of homeowners replace a faucet on their own. These are the spots that tend to drip afterward.
| Task | Homeowner | Plumber |
|---|---|---|
| Supply lines | Hand-tighten, then a gentle snug | Match tail size and length |
| Basket strainer | Putty or the supplied gasket, not both | Reset a strainer leaking at the locknut |
| Trap | Align slip nuts without forcing them | Rework a trap that sits high or back-slopes |
| Old stops | Try them before starting | Replace seized or dripping valves |
How the job runs
How a sink and faucet swap goes
Test the stops
We close the existing valves to see if they hold before anything comes apart.
Remove the old fixture
Drains and supplies off, sealant cut, sink lifted clear.
Pre-mount the faucet
Faucet and strainer go on the new sink before it is set.
Set and seal the sink
Putty or silicone for drop-ins, clips and adhesive for undermounts.
Connect drain and supplies
New supply lines, trap reset to the new depth, appliances reconnected.
Leak test full
Fill the bowl, drain it and run hot and cold while checking every joint.

FAQ
Questions before you buy a new sink or faucet
Yes. Give us the model before the visit if you can, so we know the hole count, supply size and adapters needed. Faucets bought online sometimes ship without supply lines or with ones too short for the cabinet.
Only if the hole count and spacing match. A single-hole faucet can cover a three-hole sink with a deck plate. A widespread faucet will not fit a centerset pattern without a new sink or top.
Often. Multi-turn stops that have not moved in years may not close, or may leak once turned. If yours hold, they stay. If not, quarter-turn replacements make every later repair simpler.
On new stone counters, the fabricator usually mounts the bowl before the top is set. On a swap under an existing counter, we do it with clips and adhesive after checking the counter edge and anchor points.
The usual suspects are the pop-up drain body gasket, the pivot rod nut and a tailpiece that does not line up with the trap. Each needs a careful fit, which is why we test with a full bowl.
